Judit Tárczy - Vocabulary Building - HungaryI am a teacher. I teach English but as a mother of four girls I have had to teach many things. So teaching English is only a part of my life even if it is the most important part at the moment.
There are many who can speak English better than me but my field is not the language itself but the teaching, or method of teaching. I started working as a freelance English teacher 20 years ago. First I was teaching young children from 2-3 years olds. Then they went into primary school and wanted to continue with me. This is how I moved on to adult education and now I teach at companies and prepare private student for exams. Spending 20 years with the same activity can be very tiring, you even can burn out. I faced to this problem as well. This is why I decided to take a break and went to India for 8 months. I was a guest of a school and naturally did some English classes. The experience was mindset changing. Instead of focusing on words I started thinking about how to teach making correct sentences and communicate more effectively. This is how "Shapes&Dots" was born. The basis are Rita Baker's Global Approach shapes but I turned it upside down and added some fairy tales to them to make grammar easy to understand. |
